I am writing with good news about our final fundraising production for the United Way campaign.

As you know, our 2011 goal was $320,000. Our final fundraising total, which will be publicly announced and which will be printed on the check that is presented at halftime at next week's basketball game is … $325,366. Congratulations to everyone for your good work and creative efforts this fall throughout the campaign. We not only met but exceeded this year's goal. And you should be very proud that we have set a new record for United Way fundraising at Iowa State, and that our team exceeded last year's contribution by over $7000!

Many thanks for your efforts and the difference you've made. I hope to see you at the countywide celebration on Monday, and the game on Wednesday.
